Given the prominence of our site and the importance of the building to ITV, we have appointed a world class team led by Hopkins Architects which has designed a number of award-winning developments, including the London 2012 Velodrome, Mound Stand at Lord’s and Portcullis House.
The proposals have been carefully devised, having regard to the rich culture of the South Bank. Great emphasis has been placed on the quality of the design and materials to ensure the buildings enhance the area.
Hopkins Architects has worked alongside distinguished landscape architects, Gillespies, and award-winning lighting designers, Speirs & Major, to develop the ideas of the scheme.
The proposals have been informed by the particular planning and heritage considerations, including the South Bank Conservation Area, the linear view from Westminster Pier to St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster World Heritage Site, views from Richmond to St Paul's Cathedral and other river panoramas.
Input in to the design development has also been provided by:
Tavernor Consultancy - townscape, visual and built heritage;
Cundall - Mechanical and service engineers; and
DP9 - Planning consultants
Also taken into consideration has been the feedback received from Lambeth Council, local residents and community stakeholder groups. A summary of the changes can be found on our 'Consultation' page.
